I'm sending in a pair of Miuras.
Prodeal offers
"Rubber Type:
5.10 Stealth - La Sportiva
Onyx 4mm - 3.5mm
C4 5.5mm - 5mm

I'm ignorant. What's a good choice of rubber?

I prefer the 5.10 rubber in the thinner version.

I sent my most favorite-est Miuras to prodeal resole in mid-October per positive reviews here. 2 weeks later, I go to their website & see a note indicating they have shut down for a month. I am thinking surely they will let me know the status of my shoes since they were rec'd before they put up the notice, but I get nothing.

...I call & email....no responses. (reminds me of my high school dating life)

Finally, I went ahead and wrote off the shoes as lost/forgotten by flaky business owners. I went out and bought a new pair (which I freakin' love, so this story isn't a complete downer)

Yesterday (2 months after I mailed the shoes in), I rec'd an email confirmation that the shoes are on their way back to me. I haven't seen what they charged me, but their prices have increased from the time this thread began.

Never again. Back to Rubber Room for me.

I also had pretty slow service this fall, and their prices did go up. Still good work, but frustrating.

we sent 2 pairs in september around the time his website said he was on his honeymoon. it took about a month, but the work was really good. i think they are backed up right now due to a location change.

dronez may know a little more about it...

Yep, sent in three pairs about a week and a half before Halloween and have yet to receive them. Later I found out he was closed for remodeling/expansion from Nov. 1st to Dec 8. Called last week and was told my shoes would be done the next day, so I'm expecting them soon. Sucks to learn they've just been sitting on a shelf for 40+ days- What the hell does resoling a shoe entail anyways? black magic, cnc machinery, child labor? I'm gonna have to start a resoling business in the ziggy's mountain wiener trailer- I'm thinking it could have a biblical theme. :)

They are sorta local (the new) and good people all around. Solid service for years from them. No reason to go anywhere else for me...

Has anybody used Friction Fix recently? I've got a pair I need to send out, and was wondering about their turnaround this time of the year...
