Bombs Bursting

The photo in the online guide shows someone pulling the roof, instead of move up the manky crack to the right. I think that is the original line, but was wondering is it still rated 5.8 when pulling the roof and running it out?

I was told it's 5.8 any way you go. Right, through the roof ,or left.

I have done the route both ways. I couldn't tell you which way was harder. The left way seemed more enjoyable though.

I agree, the left way is more enjoyable, except in the summer. I put up the left way in 98 and ran it out to the top ,only to get popped in the eyes by ground wasp. I am going the do the right line in a couple days and was just wandering. I remember it being allitle lose? thanks

you went up the left way in 98? that thing ( and the three variations) like most everything else at Fortress has been a trade route for quite a bit longer than that

If you pull the roof (center of the three ways), You get to experience the "Bombs Bursting Hold". Hence the name.

That is the original line im talking about. im not saying i did the FA, just thats when I sent the " center " route. NIce climb and Im just wanting to do it again , but alittle different thats all.

It's 5.13 if you do the roof but if you heelhook is somewhere around city state.
