There's no plaque. A lot of the lines put up at DriveBy have (had) small round tags with the name of the route on them. Kinda like a dog tag.
Can't see it from the ground, and I always thought it was kinda cool if only because it was something diferent.
I don't see why there is such a fuss over it, but then I guess there has to be a fuss over everything.

Hey Felacio!
First of all, my apologies for missing out on this threat. I have been busy trying to ensure access to this crag for generations to come.
I'll make it easy on the reader, and keep it as short as I can with simple facts:
First: The quote from Felacio: but why would anyone who sponsors a route want their name on a tag at the chains of the route, a certificate, and a picture on the route? that's pretty egotistical if you ask me.
1. Why? Because it is working, and needed money is being raised to buy this 700-acre land to obtain permanent access to the Murray Property.
2. A friend of mine has placed a bid - mostly because he loves the red, and yes, only partially because his name would have a chance to be on top of the route. Does he have an ego problem? Yes, probably so, but he’s trying to overcome it by helping out the rest of us climbers.
3. A person I do not know has placed another completely different bid. That person is a non-climber, and that person will never see himself on a route (unless you personally haul his 320 pounds up the rock).
Other facts:
4. A route can have the sponsor’s name. At the request of the sponsor, I am sure we can do without their name. Ever heard of anonymous sponsor?
5. A route's sponsor is not required to climb the route to help out for this great cause.
Finally, this is the part I do not understand: I see a lot of mouthing off from people who are not even helping out here. Hummm, I forgot: criticism is FREE.
Second: Another quote from Felatio: why would another climber care if he saw whose name was on the anchors of some route?
Personally, I could care less if I saw my brother’s name on top of the route I am climbing, but I would be delighted that “someone” had been there to help ensure permanent access: After all, there wouldn’t be a route to climb at the Murray Property if we didn’t have access. Does that answer your question or would you like me to elaborate?
quote from Felacio: what if a potential sponsor couldn't climb a route in the auction? how would they get their picture on it?
This question has already been answered, but since it was brought up again in your post, I will attempt to answer it: It is not a requirement for the auction participant to climb. The only requirement there is willingness to help.
Felacio:Turn off by the RRGCC you ask?
I don’t know… I just don’t see it man. It’s like I don’t understand how anyone can sue their own parents – yet it still happens on a daily basis. I can only recommend that you look a little closer at the accomplishments of the RRGCC, because all of its volunteers work really hard for you, me, and all other climbers to be able to enjoy climbing. Yet, another example is the Murray Property Purchase. Tell me the place is not beautiful… Tell me you don’t want to save it…
Felacio: Various forms of stupidity you mentioned?!
Well, let’s see… yeah, I got it…Here’s what I find bizarre: Our first donation came from Colorado. Our most recent donation came from Europe. A number of other bids and donations have come from people in and around the state of KY. Now, what have YOU ever done to preserve climbing at the Red? Is that stupid or what???
Let's all get along here and remember that we all just want to keep on climbing...

! Enough with all that detestation ALREADY !
Smile & be thankful for what you have.

Ho: I don't think that there is anything one group can do to "mend fences" if the other group refuses to meet halfway. I would love for you to participate but respect your decision not to help. No biggie. We all have free will and shouldn't be criticized for exercising it. I think that you would be a great asset to helping us preserve climbing in this area. You are a very intelligent person, when you're not being a pig-fucker, and I'm sure that you have great ideas about how to be as inclusive as possible. We still strive to include everyone. I think the perception is improving and that we're making real progress.
Vic: Good responses.

Here's the one proper reason to put "little stupid tags" on the anchors of auctioned routes, to say THANK YOU! Thank you for helping. Thank you for caring. Thank you for noticing that some people are actually doing something as opposed to just complaining!
And before I forget, Felacio, thanks for nothing!

About the "little stupid tags"... I don't understand why this seems to be such a conversation item, but it is. I think it's a really nice idea for thanking those people who did donate and help keep the crags open for climbing - as mentioned above by "Member". Also, I think it would be kind of cool to get to the top of a route and know who sponsored it. I don't see it as a ego thing at all, but as an extremely cool thing for one climber to do for other climbers... help provide more good climbs! Don't get too wrapped up in the little things and concentrate on raising the money to buy the property. This is the bigger picture.
And I know I don't have a lot of posts to my name, so lest you think I'm totally new to this site, I've been involved in many of the posts with my friends, just haven't posted much myself.
A BIG thank you to whoever asked Horatio to change his signature. That was disgusting! I'd be perfectly happy to not see quotes like that any more. Thanks.
