um, care to go a bit further back? remember the hearings in 95-96. FASB wanted to make corporations account for employee options, to make Fin. Statments show the expense. the new SEC chair Levitt was too much of a punk (clinton's choice for the position) to go with the FASB recommendations. You know who went to bat for the common guy? Sen. Levine, a Dem.

And who lined up for the corporations? A whole slew of losers, including senators from both parties (Boxer (D), Bradley (D), Gramm (R), D'Amato (R),Eshoo (D), and Shelby (D).

And FASB was effectively shut up on expensing stock options. So then Eisner at Disnet, Eizenger at Coke, and multiple other took hundreds of millions of dollars home with merely a "note to the FS" in small print.

Nope, there is no way in hell blame is going to be ascribed to one party for the corporate greed and housing mess. Care to know who the top 4 benefactors were in the past 6 years of Fannie Mae and freddie Mac monies? yup, all democrats....in fact, I believe our new President was third on the list.

so save the sermon. unless you are preaching to kool aid libs who forget the history of these messes.

alright, so we can get past personality issues for the candidates, give me five accomplishments and five blunders from mcconnell that you base this decision on...just curious if your argument has validity or this is just more partisan puke.

As usual we all refuse to see who is truly responsible. It's the american people, the ones that felt entitled to buy a house they couldn't afford. The basis for buying the house was they could afford the initial morgage payment - forget about what that payment will be when non-fixed interest rate goes up - and all without a down payment so when the market crashes you are upside down on your loan. The banks simply did what any good capitalist would do, give out lots of loans for the quick buck more. Everyone wants bailed out and no one want to take any personal responsiblity - the real american dream

now, the only problem with this scenario is the same idiots who voted W in just voted Obama in. or do we have a new round of un-informed voters this time. not sure which would be more scary.....monday morning QB'ing has got to be delightful...

either way, I am delighted that Obama won. He will make a fascinating leader, and I am proud of the US for this decision.

Monday morning recriminations are even more fun. I am glad (and relieved) that Obama won. I am still bitter that we suffered eight years of W. Guess I should learn to love again.
Do you remember the speech Gerald Ford gave when he took power from Nixon- he said "Our National nightmare is finally over." I think instead of quoting Lincoln in his inaugural speech, Obama should be quoting Ford.
