Bolts

Post by whatahutch »

I was wondering if 3/8 by 3" bolts (rawl hex) is good enough for The Red's rock quality? I know that most people are putting in longer bolts, and the longer the better. However, I have the chance to snag a bunch for super cheap.

People normally use at least 1/2" by 3 and 3/4 now. But I only buy 1/2" by 4 and 3/4's.

Use them for cleaning bolts and directionals on steep lines but make sure to replace them with proper strength bolts if they are to be climbed on. If they are cheap enough that is a great alternative than wasting a full strength bolt for a cleaning bolt.
