We are falsely being led to believe that there is a shortage. Demand for gasoline is actually down. Check out this article from Business Week, "There is No Gas Shortage" - http://www.businessweek.com/lifestyle/c ... 945564.htm

I didn't say there was a gas shortage, I said that unless demand drops off, gas companies will keep charging high prices, why wouldn't they? We buy it regardless of the price.

o, demand is down 4%--not enough to hurt profits. It has to hurt them for them to lower prices. We would have to reduce consumption by 20-30% to affect anything.

Interesting. Some conflicting info from other things I've read but interesting nevertheless.
