Rocktoberfest- What did you think?

Post by ems »

Now that we've all had a day or two to catch our breath, but things are still fresh in your head, it seems like the perfect time to let the BOD know how you felt about the event. What did you like? What could have been done better? Was there something you wished there had been more of? The event organizers worked so hard to make Rocktoberfest a success and they deserve mad props for it, but if there is something you feel could make next year even better now is the time to speak up!

We do appreciate feedback, and we're working on a tool for you to do just that through the RRGCC.org site. Please stay tuned.

I spoke with a few folks about recycling more of our trash. I know there was an effort to organize this but it never took off mostly due to logistics (not like there was not enough to do already). I would like to vounteer my time to help organize this if I am need or just to help out when the time comes to do the nasty. gotta love mother earth!!

a central bonfire wold have been nice (although it was probably too dry for a big one)

that being said what a kickass job. I was very impressed with how smoothly everything went.Feels good to know we have such a kick ass climbing community.

I liked the bands, but as a performer myself, I'd have to say I wouldn't go with them again. Only one band had even a mild audience. Everyone else played to about 2 people. An ipod would have been cheaper, and probably gotten better response with a good song lineup...

The dyno comp and the movie were obviously the highlight. The dyno comp should be twice as big and twice as sick next year... big scary dynos with crazy helicopter falls. And maybe be closer to the main tent so as not to create such a division...

The music line up could have been better for sure. Good bands, just nobody was into it really. I heard a few groups say that last years little rave on Satarday night was what they were looking forward to. The price I know scarred people away that were wanting to go and the last min switch to donations was a great idea but not enough people got that memo. Next year should be donations for the main night instead of a steep price that most couldn't swing. Probably make more money that way also.
..OH I like how that feels..

I think a lot of people liked the music, but it was loud enough there was no reason to stand there and listen, especially when the vendors and the dyno comp were there to divert peoples attention. That being said the Sexual Disaster Quartet was awesome and I hope they come back again.
Maybe next year there could be a Techno DJ on Fri and jam bands on Sat

I agree ems. I was not in the tent the whole time but I did enjoy listening to them at my campsite. I thought I should tell them that just because no one is in the tent does not mean that there talents are not being greatly appreciated.

Next year - Face painting and a clown making balloon animals. And, maybe a petting zoo.
Victory Whip in da House. Yeah.
