Fall color?
Fall color?
How is it looking at the red? And, any thoughts on when the leaves will peak, and how long there will be some color?

seems like they were off to a good start and then it stopped raining. 35% is good guess, but i'd say a little less.
since we practically skipped last fall all together, i was hoping for a full on ky fall season. after this drought/unseasonally hot temps they may just drop all at once after the first cold snap. i hope i'm wrong b/c fall is the shit.

I'd say 20-25% (transaltes to 1 in 5 or 1 in 4 trees) in full color, count the trees that just have a few leaves and I'd say you're approaching 33% (1 in 3).
The color this past Saturday was better than I expected but still muted by historic standards. The trees in Louisville made a dramatic shift after the rain and I suspect the gorge will do the same if it catches some tihs week. Everything looks better wet.
One thing I was surprised about on Saturday was the quality of the light. I thought with fires and dust in the area it would be the same as always. I found it to be not only crystal clear; but it also seemed intense and golden at the same time, and for a majority of the day. So while the leaves aren't spectacular, the fall light is.
