And let the AUCTION Begin!!!
Hey Ho. There were IN DEPTH discussions about those very issues. Some people are turned off by it, some love it. It's impossible to please everyone. It would be amazing for climbers to donate the money because they think it's a great idea. The problem is that so far, that hasn't been the case. So, while these may appear to be "gimicks" for raising money, which they are, they are well-intended to preserve the Southern region. We're also doing a gear sale, gym series fundrasier...and a belay bitch auction. Care to offer yourself up as belay-bitch for a day? Or, if there are alternative ideas that you have, please tell me. I'd love to know!

I hope that I didn't sound defensive. I absolutely appreciate the constructive criticism and that's what you were offering. Really. Please offer me as much as you've got!
Now about the belay-bitch auction. Bet you'd fetch a right nice price Ho. I'll buy you a case of beer to give up one day and be someone's rope gun.

Nice try loser. You can totally be involved and not be a member. Some of the potential belaybitches aren't. so there.
I totally except the criticism in the spirit that it's intended. From talking to RRGCC members, I know that there is a great amount of dissatisfaction with the "US" and "THEM" view. We all want it to be a "WE" view. That's actually one of the thrusts of the type of fundraising we're doing. Trying to allow everyone to participate, if they can. That way it doesn't seem like a yuppy-fest or Elitist in any way. A lot of perspective gets lost when dealing with access issues all day. People neglect to communicate. I can see where that communication breakdown can alienate and frustrate people. But it's a completely unintended consequence. From my short time in helping the RRGCC, I can tell you that any and all input is valued but getting it hasn't been easy. Ray has been SUPER COOL in letting me spew about all of this on the site. Honestly, I think that it's been the most effective tool so far in discussing this issue.
Thanks Ho. You've got a purdy mouth boy.
