New to Lexington, anyone climbing Oct. 4-5 or next week?

Post by PinkTricam »

I just relocated to Lexington, and I'm looking to meet partners to climb at the Gorge. I lead trad to 5.6, follow up to 5.9. Sport -- well, I haven't done much sport since there's very little of it where I moved from, but the small amount I did while traveling to other places was around 5.9-5.10. I've got a full trad rack and rope.

The weather looks like it will be great this weekend, so if anyone is looking for an additional partner and won't mind that I'm still unfamiliar with the RRG, please let me know. I'm also thinking I might go to Rocktoberfest to get to know the area, so perhaps I'll meet some of you there.

Cheers,

Hi! I'm new to Lexington also. However, I have been climbing at the gorge for about a year and a half.

When I'm in shape I can lead 5.10's sport. Unfortunately, the summer wasn't good to me, so on a good day I can lead 5.8's with out too much trouble, maybe a 5.9. Tentatively, I'm looking to climb next weekend (Oct 10,11).

The hardest trad I have lead is a 5.8, but I'm still pretty new to trad.

I'll also have my dog with me. He's pretty well behaved. He gets a little nervous and starts wining and barking when I start climbing. But will eventually settle down and just hang around the crag.

Interested in climbing some time?

I'm heading down from Bloomington, IN on 24th-27th. I can lead 5.8 and top 5.10c/d. I've never tried trad before, but would be up for it if the pro is already placed.
