new forum

every few weeks/months we get the "i'm new here i'm looking for info about _____" I know when a thread is hijacked it's moved to its own forum - maybe it would be a good idea to do that with the previous "i'm new" threads too.

i've been on this site a bit and i tried to search for those threads so i could just post links to other threads for guarino to reference but i couldn't come up with anything. i know they're there. i just can't seem to get the right combination of words to find them using the search engine. if i know they exist and i can't find them easily, i doubt a new person would ever come across them.

then again, that may be way more trouble than it's worth.

How about a new forum for all the political ranting. In fact, make it one of those super secret forums you have get invited to in order for it to pop up as an unread post. I see enough political bashing on the tube, enough already!

Was a Mig's the other night and overheard some political banter from the next table over- just as I was thinking I'm grateful to be talking about climbing instead of politics it infected our table from the far end. Made me wish I had some Jim Jones Kool Aid to sip.

josie, i comend your willingness to help but sometimes, sometimes, people have to just find/figure out/think for themselves. especially in this sport. a new forum MAY help but before long you would need a forum for people that can't find that forum, etc, etc........... and then ray wouldn't have time for his kick-ass karaoke session because he'd be too busy aDDing forums. let people figure it out and if they can't....then we can make fun of them.

well - it was less to help them and more so we don't have to keep re-reading the same questions over and over again. but i'm sure you're right - they probably wouldn't figure it out anyways.
