Need climbing partner this weekend

Post by dhoyne »

I'm looking for at least one other person to climb with this weekend at the Red... I'll be down there with one girl that doesn't know how to lead or even clean routes and I'd like at least one other semi-experienced person.

I'm probably going to be climbing at the Arena, hitting the 5.10's and easier.

If you're in the Indy area we might have room in our car if you need a ride.

this weekend

Hey,

When are you planning on leaving? I will be in Blommington and might be able to go that weekend. I have been wanting to climb at the Arena for a long time. I can lead 10's and 11's sport and some 8-9 trad. I was planning on going down the 18th for a week, but I think I can add a weekend on to it. Let me know.

I'll be leaving Friday evening from Castleton, around 6pm. Get down to the Gorge, maybe stay at Miguel's or camp somewhere, climb Saturday, drink Saturday night (after stopping for ribs at Mark's BBQ!), climb Sunday, take off sometime in the afternoon.

I have trad gear but haven't learned how to lead trad yet  -- that's high on my 'to do' list.

I might not be able to give you an answer before thursday. I have to get ahold of the people I am climbing with the week after to set up a place to meet. If I can go (let's hope), I will just meet you at Miguel's on Saturday morning. What kind of car will you be driving?

Got your PM. I'll either be in a silver Jeep Wrangler or a red Subaru Outback (at least I think that's what her new car is...)

Hopefully this'll work out!

We'll be taking the Jeep this weekend, so look for a tall guy and a girl in a silver Jeep Wrangler. We'll probably get in late Friday night and camp at Miguel's.

Looks like he committed elsewhere:

Looks like I am heating to Nantahala for my first kayaking trip on Saturday, and climbing at Sunset Rock on Sunday.

Thanks ynot and Jeff for trying to help, but I had to commit or risk being stuck here in the flat-lands of Indiana. I will be down next weekend for sure.

ynot, Shockley of the transistor fame is the same as the one famous for Shockley's Ceiling at the Gunks.

Cheers.

Is it too late to get a ride from you. I've been climbing at the arena for the past two months and I've got a lot of projects there.I sure would dig a ride there if you could pick me up Friday.I live in Williamstown Ky Exit 154 off of I-75.It's on your way I think.I don't have to climb with you if you're crew is full.I just need a ride.I'll kick in on the gas.I just need a ride.
