i thought the proceeds from those pass things were supposed to fund law enforcement in the rrg - yeah right lol

Nah, the funds from those passes went to fund things like trashcans, pit toilets, rehabbed trailhead parking lots, Auxier Ridge improvements. Law enforcement is a lot more expensive than trashcans.

Most cops are useless anyway.

ANd sure you could bait them to try and chatch them but as you may know, some of those backwoods folks are not the kind of people to back into a corner.

Nick i was running shuttle for a school hiking trip on that day. We dropped two cars off at Martins Fork around 7 and returned at about 730 to see your windows busted out and glass everywhere. We felt horrible for you man- sorry we couldn't be there in time to catch those fuckers in the act.

A point or order:
At one time, in the notso distant past, one vigilante did attempt to bait and catch at roadside. The vigilante laid up in the woods by roadside crag, and eventually saw somone breaking into cars. Said Vigilante came out of the woods screaming, waving a loaded weapon. The thief just stood there, and to my knowledge, that was the extent of it. Vigilante did not have legal authority to fire, and even if the thief attacked the vigilante, the vigilante would still be considered the attacker, even in the most backwood court.

Bottom line: only a police sting will catch them...unless you plan on using force, don't bother trying to catch them, nothing will come of it.

had said vigilante given the said thief a good thrashing, would he have a better chance of not getting caught himself in the backwoods. A loaded gun may have gone too far but a good ol pistol whip might have changed a few things.
