Roadside Attraction - Hornet's nest

July 7th, 2008 - Just wanted folks to know that at the top of the 1st pitch of RSA there is a hornet's nest as soon as you pull up onto the ledge. Be careful not to get too close to the corner as you make you upward or tie in at the ledge/tree.

I think they are bees unless hornets burrow in dirt? I climbed past twice on Saturday with no incident. There was also a nice .75 inch diameter copperhead catching rays at the base of the boulder trailside beneath "Jump for Joy" most of the day. Looks like it might be home so keep your peepers peeled when stomping around up there.
