The problem I think people is that they are not watching the milage or something. The concrete bridge you cross to get to muscle beach is not one that you can drive over, it is maybe 20 yards from the road.Drive 1.5 miles down 9B after it's intersection with 9A. Park in a small pull-off on the right. Cross the East Fork of Indian Creek to the east of the parking area via the concrete dam and ford. Immediately turn right and follow a dirt road for about 150 yards or so and look for a trail that ducks off to the left

I've seen the error of my ways- We've been to Purple Valley a few times so when I read the approach beta that said concrete dam I thought I knew exactly what it was referring to. Didn't pay any attention to the mileage count and the beta all made perfect sense until we ran into the Junkyard. The map to MB has even has boulders in it so we all swore we were in the right place, guess we were wandering around Backside instead. Thanks Wes, I'll be looking forward to some of that wide punishment-

Wes is right there are some nice cracks up there. It's hard to tell someone to follow the "logging road" out there though because it peters out pretty fast and you just have to blaze your own path from there (there is a cliff to follow!). The cracks that I inspected were heavily fortified at the base by massive rhodos, which made it about impossible to get off the ground. I've been thinking about heading back out there, but it will have to be one of those days where I want to explore more than climb. If you keep walking on the logging road for a while, and take a logging road left after a couple big boulders, you will pass near Major's pinnacle, and can drop left into lumpy wall, or continue along some more undocumented cliff, with a few pretty sweet looking cracks.
