New campground being planned next to Muir Valley

Post by weber »

A new campground is in the planning stage on the approach road to Muir Valley by our neighbor. He is asking if anyone is interested in helping to clear brush and small trees away in exchange for free camping for the summer. No facilities yet, but he will start with portajons and city water as soon as interest develops. Quiet natural setting in forest with short walk into Muir. PM me and I'll put you in touch with the owner.

Sweet. So long as the drunk high school crowd doesn't overrun the place I'd love to camp there....
I've been a gumby longer than you've been climbing.

yeah I'm a little worried about the "drunk" crowd. Look what they did to all the popular spots in the red. I hauled out a FULL bag of trash from half moon sun evening. %90 beer bottles........ sad. It has always been one of my favorite look out spots but I can hardly stand going out there because it means I have to look at the disaster left behind by others

but who knows it could work out great, time will tell. It's not a bad idea though.
