I don't know about beer drinking, especially Canadian beer, but I find eating ice cream can lead to one-night stands.

Well, I wouldn't call the 5 years of arguing and the like "lucky", but, he did get a son out of the deal, so I guess he's happy overall. :)

I, personally, won't ever have to worry about an alcohol-induced 5 yr misery-fest...because I don't drink, but hell, we all have our "poisons"...mine just happens to be all things sweet and sugary. I guess I could get attacked by some psychotic lady in a ginger-bread house, if I tried to eat it, but that's about it.

 we've got it all backwards. It's not the drinking that leads to relationships, It's the relationships that lead to drinking.

I'm an "other" too, Jeff! You know--"happily divorced!" :P
What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

k guys...... I've been gone all weekend to quebec at a new and KICK ASS sport crag.

but.....to catch up.......anyone who 'dis-likes' or 'Hates' Canadian beer.....is off of my list of 'hopefuls'. :)

I'm not a HUGE beer fan either.....my choice is red wine......and lots of it, but I still know a good beer when I have one!!! :)

sorry....but the girl has standards.

(Just to stay off-topic, albeit not about beer) Where's this crag in Quebec? Granite? Limestone? What's the grade range? How bad were the bugs?

(back on topic) So you didn't find yourself a Quebequois sportoboy?

new crag just north of quebec city. called 'les portes de l'enfer' - 'the doors to hell' You can find it on www.drtopo.com

The topo and info is on the old html french version website.

I can translate some directions for you if need be.

grades....5.7-5.13.

then of course Kamouraska is only 3hrs from there with sport in the 5.4-5.13 range, and La Pocatiere also near Quebec City has up to a 5.14.

Really nice climbing. Where it is so new, some of the routes are still a bit dirty (some moss/lichen on some holds) but that will go away with some climbing. Right now about 35 established routes, but room for many many more. Access isn't a big deal. just follow the rules.
I highly reccomend 'PsychoPompe 5.10+(c/d)' It is a stellar route. one of the best I've climbed. The rock is mostly Shist and the other areas around there have a wierd limestoneish rock. But is is all really nice rock.
No bugs. None. oh yeah......and the best....FREE CAMPING!! yahoo!!!

As for the 'quebecois sportoboy'.....uh.....you obviously have never climbed in Quebec.....or you wouldn't have asked me that.......

canadaclimbergirl, I'll be at Niagara Glen boudering Larbor Day weekend(Aug. 30-Sept.1), if you want to hook-up and do some bouldering. Plus we are going to an all night rave in Toronto that Sunday night...are you interested?
