Ahh to be 4 again... I've got some sick vids of me crushing some monkey bars at Brinkerhoff Elementary.... at least a month or two till my other friends could link it. I got the FA. I'm awesome. If i can get them transfered to my computer I'll put em up so everyone can ogle at them.

That video is really good quality for the age of it.

I've seen that before, isn't there a clip of it on one of the old "Moving Of Stone" videos? Didn't Chris resent climbing and his parents for a while because they had him climb and leading at such a young age? It's only in the past 5 or so years that he has got back into climbing...no?

cool though

Yeah, there are also some cool pics of his parents, age 54 and 56, sending 13's. As I accumulate more and more gray hair I'm starting to be more impressed by the hard ass sends of older folks. 4 year olds are like monkeys- wish I would've been crushing at that age. Like rhunt said though, you might eventually resent all that pressure.
The only escape is up.

I was at roadside years ago when this little kid was pretty much being forced to lead crazy fingers. He couldn't have been more than 5, looked like he just graduated from a body harness to a waist harness. The poor kid was sketched and his parents just kept pressuring him to keep climbing. He ended up lowering mid way in tears. I guess the kid either hateS climbing and his parents today or is one of the many guys out there crushing.

Doesn't everyone resent their parents for something at some point and then get over it?
I am amazed at his technique at that age. and ability to understand what the gear does and use it....I can't even place a cam for pete's sake at my age.
I mean that's a lot of steps to remember - leading trad for a four-year old...I have met Chris on a couple occassions and he's a smart dude - but I am really impressed by this - to me it shows a maturity level not possessed by most kids that age.
