I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for these two ropes that I'm considering buying.
I'm choosing between either BEAL Flyer II or the Booster III (drycover)
Flyer II is a 10.2mm rope, rated for 10 falls
Booster III is a 9.7mm rope rated at 9 falls
I think I usually prefer the smaller rope, but they don't hold up quite as long in theory. So I suppose I'm asking which is the better rope..? If anyone has any experience with these...
Also, I'm trying to decide if I want a 60m/70m rope. Most of my climbing is done at the Red, where a 60m rope covers most everything. Do you think I should pay the extra money though for the 70m? Keep in mind that I'm kind of poor like everyone else, haha.
thanks guys!
Go with a Sterling or Mammut. I would get something around a 9.5. These usually last about 150 days of outdoor climbing depending on what type and area you climb at. As for falls, don't worry about that. They both will take alot!
falls on your rope are factor 3 falls something that is nearly impossible at the rrg and also beal ropes are super stretchy which can be good or bad depending on your circumstances sterling and mammut are definately better choices

Mrs Ynot sold my retired marathon at her yard sale for 5 bucks. I was ticked. that rope was awesome. A 60 has left me short of the ground several times but a 70 is just too much to drag up and down. My old Marathon 60 had an extra 12 feet that was nice.

i have the Booster III. its holding up pretty well. the shealth is pretty flexible which I like, feeds through a GriGri really nicely. as far as the 60 or 70 question, if you can afford the 70 get it. I find that the 15 feet on either end of my rope get the most wear so if I got a 70, I could lop off the bad ends and climb on it longer cause the middle is still in good shape...does that make me sound sketchy???
