Man you think cleaning ro is dangerous I love walking around the corner there to see mister super buff frat boy free snaking that thing and sketching out near the first bolt. I just turn around b/c I don't want to see such a wholesome young man die.

With a few simple aid techniques you can easily clean any route safely on rappel.

I cleaned mirage after I flashed it, and down climbed through the crux so that I wouldn't swing. It worked pretty well. I highly suggest this method.

To everyone here that has read my post about rapping down Ro to clean:

I apologize for my post agreeing with KD because it seemed to have fueled a fiery round of posts on this thread, and has caused some people I know and like to get into an argument.

I admit that I have never climbed/cleaned/whatever Ro and should have been silent due to lack of experience and credibility. I agreed with KD only on a theoretical basis because of the ethic that seems prevalent at The Red, "rap to clean, don't lower through fixed gear"

I respect both Saxman and Charlie. Sax because he's active in trail days, route development and maintaining various aspects. Charlie largely for the same reasons and that he is part of the Board of the RRGCC and works hard to keep access to various crags open so that we can have these arguments on this forum.

Anyway, I hope we all learn that we should be safe no matter what we do. I'm just glad that no one was seriously injured.

I prefer to untie at the top and then try to land on my belayer. Rope comes right down. Do try to have a larger belayer, though. Tried this with my wife and pissed her off pretty bad.

Just e-mailed a buddy of mine who got back from Iraq and I asked him about re-integration into the real world. He said the biggest problem is stress. Specifically lack of it. Nothing gets him upset. Which is a problem because he now lacks motivation, particularly for school. I understand. I'm leaving tonight to go build a fortified observation point in the middle of extremely hostile territory. Could be another medal winner here, I reckon. Last time we did this we didn't all come back. Anymore, there's a mixture of amusement and fury that I feel whenever I see people stress about things that simply don't matter.

I love this forum because it reminds me of home and climbing and the Red River Gorge, and there were just 6 pages of posts over something that could have been taken care of with a very very short correction. You want to see stress, read one of the several articles written about my company. They're now making a documentary about us for sundance. Be careful. Be safe. Have fun. Most of you are living the dream and don't even realize it.

To the Rev Wright I apologize for talking about how you sound when you are taking a poo. I know it was not nice of me to discuss your anit-social bathroom behavior on a thread where charlie and saxman would see it and get excited. I admit that afro americans have had a hard way to go and that obama could make it all go away. I will try to not talk about how people from other cultures poo when in airports and other public buildings.
