Biggest Sport Falls????
I was very glad to have a good belayer who was able to yard in two arm lengths of rope before I got to the bottom of teh fall. Honestly thought it wasn't bad cus I knew when I placed it that it was unlikely to hold so when I came off, I was mentally prepared to fall a long wayp0bray01 wrote:I have yet to blow any pieces while climbing trad...and am thankful for that.
How you compare may not be as important as to whom you are compared
i didn't really have a sucky belayer. in his defense, i got on a route over my head in order to push myself to the point where i would fall. so we both knew starting out that i would be coming off at some point - it was just a matter of when. but i do kinda suspect he threw out a bit of extra slack to make the ride more exciting!pigsteak wrote:damn, you guys and gals have sucky belayers....

A took a 35 footer in the gym. The anchor clipping hold spun as I was clipping and my numb-nuts partner had his pinkie on the GriGri cam. I bounced off the wall at a buldge then panicked and grapped the other end of the rope that was going up. Luckily my hand came loose then it hit the next quickdraw. I stopped 2 feet short of the ground when he finally let up on the cam but my burnt hand looked like microwaved chicken. If I had fallen 10 feet lower I would have decked really hard. He's not my belay partner anymore.
Busier than a one-legged man in an ass kicking contest.
