confessions of an infomercial shopper

Post by Pete »

I confess, I bought a series of workouts from an infomercial... however, it is the best, most ass kicking series of workouts i've done in a long time... I'm two weeks into the series and have the following testimonials:
I've dropped 5 lbs
I've gone from doing 1 pull up unassisted to 3-4
I've gone from doing 1 chin up unassisted to 6-8

Lurk says my ass looks good, but he's not a totally objective party...

I didn't buy into the diet and supplement routine offered along w/ the series of workouts, but the workouts are pretty awesome. Plus, in two of the videos there is a tall red-headed woman that is josie's twin... so it is almost like i get to work out w/ josie... weird, but true. I'm going to try to follow the whole 90 day routine to see how it goes. I've got money on it improving my climbing and my overall fitness. Fun stuff... anyone else want to confess to buying an infomercial dvd/vhs/piece of equipment?

I get nervous when they start doing all that EXTREME EXTREME style marketing and besides people tell me Brad Pitt couldn't pack my lunch so I guess I'm not really infomercial material

Zumba! I love this workout! I get to learn Latin dances, pump my heart up, look at Beto (yummm), and trill all at once!

My daughter has lost 17 pounds, and I've definitely firmed up my fat ass!
What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

I will add my two cents- P90X is rad. It is the real deal. Those commercials look slick, but they are not exaggerating.

i was looking around a store the other day and sort of wanted to get one of those giant rubber balls... i just wasn't sure what the hell i would do with it! my thought was it would help make a person maintain balance while doing push-ups, sit-ups, etc. which in my mind would help strengthen the core better than regular push-ups, sit-ups, etc.

anybody own GIANT RUBBER BALLS or have recommendations???
efil lanrete... i enjoy the sound, but in truth i find this seductively backward idea to be quite frightening
