Are the polls on here actually useful?

Post by whatahutch »

I think that maybe 10 percent of the polls on here are actually useful or have very much tact to them.
The same with a lot of the forums.
Which probably says a lot about the people who frequent this site and post. I mean who the hell wants to hear about hand herpes. I especially hate when newbies to climbing ask for help or insight and get tactless responses, which turns them off to climbing, climbers, and the climbing culture in general.
Let's all grow up and stop actingly like high-schoolers, or at least pretend to be adults if you can't be mature.

I agree bcombs. I also thinks it says a lot about the admins on here too. I wonder how long it will take them to change this, exclude, erase what I just said. Maybe they might even make up some stupid term for me, or make it illegal for me to post or change my spray count. Which I know for a fact has happened before. I think their ethics are very low to none when they do such things.

could you please give us some more posting guidelines? I think we'd be lost here w/o your fatherly advice. Can I call you daddy?

I'm actually not conservative. Your mom's conservative. I'm just an adult.

sure gumby. I think its very tactless to bring the admins of this site into your personal problems with the freedoms granted to us on this site. They may play an occasional joke but it is usually overturned before long and not done with any real malice. They help to make the community what it is and you should thank them. name an example of how you feel your freedom has been constrained.

It is just that I have a degree in journalism, and that makes me a little anal and have a high sense of ethics. I'm sorry. I do thank them that it is a free speech site, and that certian immature behavior is allowed. I love the fact that America is great because of this. I just think that the way people act on here, sometimes, makes the climbing community associated with this website (The RRG community) look very immature. Which gives climbers at large a bad view from newbies or the general public.

I also remember climbing and a group of ppl climbing beside us had an admin in it talking about changing a persons stats on here because they didn't like them.

I especially love that about this site. The preschool is over at arrcee.com, send them there. Every other climbing site on the planet has been and should always be characteristically n00b hostile. Just be thankful this is not wreck.climbing. When people use the intardweb to substitute for actual experience, and they trust advice from the morons on here then they deserve to get hurt and take themselves out of the climbing community.

There is no "Beginners" forum over here. We like for people to get their panties in a bunch, because we can laugh at them (you).

Are you so unsure of yourself that you must continually edit your post? Are you so outside the circle that you don't know what has been done as a practical joke and what has been done maliciously? If so then you don't need to be spreading rumors and giving people the wrong idea.
