I feel like our civil rights are intact. however they are more in danger now then ever before.

Always question! Don't get pissed when someone tells you that it ain't right yet. When someone tells you this, they are being an American and using their individual right to bitch.

my point exactly caribe...you think we are better or worse in terms of "rights" than during the MLK days? and all you ultra libbies, don't give me your soppy eyed "maybe we are worse" crap....the freedom of speech and dissent in the US is amazing. where else could a whack job like Cindy Sheehan get such airtime, and not be axed off? where else could abortion clinic bombers get such airtime and not be axed off?

I am all for Cindy Sheehan. Stop occupying Iraq; it is not really accomplishing anything.

Does this mean you simply don't care what would happen to Iraq as a result of a precipitous withdrawal of U.S. forces?

I will vote for Obama.... but it is interesting how Montana is making me not give a shit. Seems like no one out here gives a fuck about the government. I am becoming complacent. Or is it complaisant?

Now dmw, it's just the crowd you're hanging with. They make a good argument that that with all the climbing, skiing, boating, hunting, fishing and hiking to do out here, there's real need for a division of labor. They'll take care of the outdoor stuff, (hope you're with 'em) and leave the running of the country via the interweb to "smarter" folks.

As a matter of fact, I'll be out at The Barn this afternoon to start outfitting that new Piranha with my name on it. As soon as the rivers open up, and we start to get the long daylight hours of spring and summer I'll be spending a lot of time on the water, and a lot less time here, tormenting my old buddies from the hard left. After all, this is fun, but not exactly sport.

Whether a democrat or republican wins they are going to inherit a house of cards built by big business in cahoots with big government that is getting ready to collapse and crush their fancy little faces in the mud of a washed up capitalist system. The good thing is we'll all loose our jobs and will be able to climb all day and eat grub worms and have local skirmishes and shit.
