crank needs to shut up..how dare you mention anything remotely positive about Shrub..we need Caribe , Evil, or Tomdarch to come in and eloquently tell you how there must be diamonds or oil or whorehouses in Africa that we are trying to steal from them.

Caribe, what country in the entire world has more political and religious freedoms than the US? trick question, of course

Great Britain, France, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Germany, Finland, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Luxembourg, Canada, Costa Rica, Greece, Cyprus

I know I am missing some, but it would have really surprised me if these countries would take captives, some of whom are its own citizens, and define them as enemy combatants without the right to legal representation and / or trial. I would believe that the following could easily get away with doing so, Jordan, Israel, PRC, Russia, Iraq (under Saddam), any American country south of Mexico except Costa Rica, any African Nation, Turkey, India, Pakistan, either Korea, Indonesia--you get the picture.

NOW, WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT TO TURN ON YOUR TV AND HEAR ANY U.S.PRESIDENT, INDEPENDENT, DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN GIVE THE FOLLOWINGSPEECH?

"My Fellow Americans: As you all know, the defeat of the Iraq regimehas been completed. Since congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, ourmission in Iraq is complete. This morning I gave the order for the complete removal of all Americanforces from Iraq . This action will be totally complete within the next30 days. It is now time to begin the reckoning.

Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countrieswhich have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list isshort. The United Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, and Poland aresome of the countries listed there. The other list contains everyone not on the first list. Most of theworld's nations are on that list. My press secretary will bedistributing copies of both lists later this evening. Let me start by saying that effective immediately, ALL foreign aid tothose nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The moneysaved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs ofthe Iraqi war

The American people are no longer going to pour their hard-earned moneyinto third world Hellholes and watch those government leaders grow faton corruption. Need help with a famine ? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France orGermany .

In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect ALL ofthis money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have athome. On that note, a word to terrorist organizations: IF YOU Screw withus, we will hunt you down and A-bomb you, like you know, eliminate youand all your friends from the face of the earth. Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try Russia, France, ormaybe even China.

I am ordering the immediate severing of all diplomatic relations withFrance, Germany, and Russia . Thanks for all your help, comrades. Weare retiring from NATO as well. Bon chance, mes amis. Also, I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing themany UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than twounpaid parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and crushed. I don't care about whatever treaty pertains tothis. You creeps have tens of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay thosetickets tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers and limos beturned over to some of the finest chop shops in the world. I love NewYork

On another note: UN to relocate, we've had enough of your meddling inthe USA ! A special note to our neighbors. Canada is on List 2. Since we arelikely to be seeing a lot more of each other, you Canooks might want totry not pissing us off for a change. Mexico is also on List 2 President Fox (or whoever is in power) andtheir entire corrupt government really needs an attitude adjustment. Nowthat I will have a couple extra tank and infantry divisions sittingaround, can you guess where I am going to put 'em?Yep, border security....don't need no darned fence! Oh, by the way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA treaty, youknow, those super highways from CANADY to MEXICO , starting now. We are tired of the one-way highway.

Immediately, we'll be drilling foroil in Alaska - which will take care of this country's oil needs forcenturies to come. If you're an environmentalist who opposes this decision, I refer you toList 2 above:pick a country and move there. They care. It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its owncitizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them by saying,'darn tootin.' Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life throughDemocracy around this world, has only earned us the undying enmity anddown-right hate of just about everyone on the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America, It is time to eliminatehomelessness in America .

To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thank you guys. We owe youand we won't forget. To the nations on List 2, a final thought: You might want to learn tospeakArabic. Now America can get back to all the freedoms she has earned throughthe blood, sweat and tears she has shed by her native sons anddaughters! God bless America . Thank you and good night. ==========================

If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you are reading it in English, thank a soldier.

surely you jest. you think that those countries have "more" freedoms than the US?

granted, many countries have equal, but I find it difficult to believe there is greater religious tolerance and freedom of speech anywhere in the world that matches that of the US.

here was my point..which of your two lists do you put the US on?

Caribe just makes this stuff up as he goes.

Let's just take a look at Canada in terms of individual liberty and rights.

The following is from Wikipedia:

"The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms (also known as The Charter of Rights and Freedoms or simply the Charter) is a bill of rights entrenched in the Constitution of Canada. It forms the first part of the Constitution Act, 1982. The Charter guarantees certain political and civil rights of people in Canada from the policies and actions of all levels of government. It is designed to unify Canadians around a set of principles that embody those rights.

The Charter was preceded by the Canadian Bill of Rights, which was enacted in 1960. However, the Bill of Rights was only a federal statute, rather than a constitutional document. As a federal statute, it was limited in scope, was easily amendable by Parliament, and it had no application to provincial laws. The Supreme Court of Canada also narrowly interpreted the Bill of Rights and the Court was reluctant to declare laws inoperative.[1] The relative ineffectiveness of the Canadian Bill of Rights motivated many to improve rights protections in Canada."

Got that? As recently as 1960 Canada enacted a "Bill of Rights" which was found wanting, then superseded by a "Charter of Rights and Freedoms" in 1982. It's apparent that they still haven't got a grip on this "freedom thing" as evidenced by the fact that a Canadian magazine publisher is currently before the Alberta Human Rights Commision for the hate crime of publishing the Mohammed Cartoons. You've probably seen them. The specific one he's in trouble for was the one with a bomb in Mohammed's turban, I believe. Oh, and the conviction rate for those investigated by the "Human Rights Comission" over the last thirty five years, 100%. I fucking kid you not.

Lately and sadly I vacillate to put the USA on list 1. Pigs, question the motives and the direction of your own country or you will definitely be living in a country on list 2 and you will not have to move.

- Great, but the US would have to give up the position of intl' police.

- We would have to give up the buffer zone. The idea was that by putting arms on the border between the (then) USSR and Europe, Europe's ass gets kicked first by the big bear. No European nation would even have to be involved in the dispute to get into the dispute because targets on their land would have been default. Why would the USA want to give that up????? Why wouldn't the USA pay for such a service???? I would not be surprised if USA money went through Europe to the USSR to keep their arms up to keep the cash flowing. We are the chumps in the end. I hope you followed that, it is a little less B&W than the crap in your last post.

------------------

"On that note, a word to terrorist organizations: IF YOU Screw withus, we will hunt you down and A-bomb you"

Ha Ha Ha, where is Osama Bin Laden??

------------------

"On another note: UN to relocate, we've had enough of your meddling inthe USA ! "

There are many nations that would step up to have the kind of attention (yes, and revenue) that hosting the political international venue brings.

-------------------

Also, none of what is said there will put food in your mouth, except paying more attention to domestic problems, which I am for 100%.

I am also for pulling out our presence in Europe. There isn't one neocon that will go for that. That rant is such a mixed up mix of left and right politics; none of it will ever happen. A pro-war isolationist wrote that drivel--and the text is contradictory.

Huh? about the same time MLK was organizing marches against hangings in old Miss and institutionalized racism in the north.

Always question! Don't get pissed when someone tells you that it ain't right yet. When someone tells you this, they are being an American and using their individual right to bitch.
