anyone see the documentary called "the lobotomist"? This doctor figures out he can do assembly line lobotomies by hammering ice picks through the bone behind eyes and wiggling the pick around to scramble the prefrontal cortex. With this new efficient "high-tech" method the number of lobotomies went from around 100 per year to around 5000. He personally performed about 3000 before they realized it wasn't helping.

PT for sure. Specific muscles injured will be identified, and specific healing strategies and exercises will be prescribed. A little e-stim, some ultra sound maybe. PTs don't cut.

Of course, it's free for me.

I would recommend that keep using the arm, but not to the point that the pain is sharp and stabbing, just give it a light work out, if it is still a problem, then think about talking to the pro's. If you're a poor dirtbag climber who doesn't want to spend any dough and who doesn't have insurance, rest, ice after light climbing or other exercise, and 2 aleve twice a day for at least 2-4 weeks. Don't sue me if you get a stomach ulcer or renal failure. Also, stretch, you don't want a frozen shoulder. If all else fails, see somebody. OH, and heat it before you work out.

You can take Roentgen Ray's advice. It is solid.
