What it takes to send harder?

Driving to the crag my hands often sweat with the rush from the caffeine running in my blood. I have the music blaring as if it will motivate my animal senses.
I'm imagining what it will be like to be a little scared shitless that afternoon.
I often wonder why some people send much harder than others. Is it there genetics or could they climb that hard in anyones body? Is it the music we listen to?
Some climb 514 after just a year and then some train for years and never get there.
Could some of us change our mindset and enable ourselves to crank harder. Is it just about believing with maybe some training thown in.

I've noticed that some of the really good climbers are very particular about there routines in training, warmups, etc. I wonder are these same people better at everything they do?
I'm curious if some people are good at everything that do and some are not so good at what they do. Is it the way certain people are raised.
I have noticed that some people have trouble overcoming the fear aspect of the sport. Thay can't quit fearing death. It seems to really crank, you have to be somewhat fearless.
Something tells me an Arno Ilgner class cant just change everyone and the way they were raised.
No really do some of us not even have a chance?

Oh, and by the way would it be wrong to have a ticklist for registered members to get more points added to there scorecard for having sex at all of the different crags or in the parking lots of the crags. I think this really is a commendable cause. Hey if we cant send hard maybe we have other talents. I mean I 'm proud of it. Maybe these other guys are out sending but hey I'm sending to.

so heres my two cents for what its worth. I dont't climb for numbers or for spray points. Of curse some might say I suck. Well, Thats probabley the truth from their veiwpoint. However I don't climb for anyone, or anything other than myself. which is the way it should be!! I also suffer from debilitating fear of heights which some days gets the better of me and I puss out, and I have been climbing and instructing for about 12 years as well as worked as a high rise window washer and still I get scared. I guess what I am trying to say is at the end of the day do you feel good about what you climbed did that day? (if o sent it or not) if not come back tommarow and challenge YOURSELF to be better than you were the day before.

Thats the great thing about climbing though. what works for one may not work for another. So climb for yourself and don't look back.

For 95% of people who climb to the 5.13 level its about quality of training. Period.

Part of that training is physical, part is mental, but its all training, nonetheless.

Fear of failure is the biggest obstacle in every sport (and every aspect of life), but most will never realize thats what they're scared of.

Part:
genetics.
training and discipline.
mental/attitude.
how early you start climbing.
proximity/availability of rock and/or gym.
ability to slackline (not really, but I can't slackline and I suck, so who knows)

It’s all in how bad you want it. Everything will fall into place once that’s figured out.

Being strong and practicing good technique will get you far, but you won't accomplish your max potential until your head is on straight.

Its all in the music you listen to and how cool you look at the crag. For me, I climb hardest when I pump myself full of some celene dion. And of course my hammer pants.

arno's book says a lot about this. I hired him for the day once and he really had me work on fears of falling etc. it was worth it. It's been a bit since that day and since Ive climbed so i could probably follow my own advice here.

Anyone have any advice on getting over my fear of heights? Now, I just push myself through it but I would love some new ideas to try. It gets frustrating when I freak out and I really want to avoid that B.S. and climb
