Economic Stimulus

Post by Andrew »

I am so disappointed in my government right now. I have no clue how they think that this will solve anything. Why doesn't our government just write a giant check to china, because that is were a significant amount of it will go. There is not an ounce of sustainability in this package. Seriously, what the hell.

Size of government should shrink, regulations loosened, tax structure changed to outlaw payroll deductions of average joes. That would be a start.
So, you're a feminist...isn't that cute.

I love how people say fewer regulations and smaller government yet at all points in history a large percentage of companies will sell their soul for more money and not care who or what they hurt in the process. Capitalism only works when someone is there to keep people from abusing their workers, the environment, their investors, etc. Look at everyone bitching about lead paint in toys. How many kids have to get sick to cause enough bad publicity to make the companies do something about it?

I dunno know about stimulating the economy, but I'm sure my check will stimulate my savings. Heck my savings are getting stimulated just thinking about my check.

pelosi and bush are in bed on this one. blame em all folks...blame em all.

don't forget the check rebate is only one part of the stimulus andrew. the .75 interest cut, along with perhaps another .5 next week....that encourages people to go borrow more money than they can afford, holding up our house of cards.

god bless america!

so the govt wants me to spend more and get into more debt?!? the sad thing is the majority of the population are sheep and will do just that. they'll be back to getting a low adjustable mortgage on a property that is much too big for their needs and that they won't be able to afford once the rate adjusts in 3-5 or so years.

so this doesn't really FIX anything - it just makes it so the current "crisis" will be delayed until next presidency and then the republicans will blame the democrat president (who will likely be elected - in my opinion) for the current economic "mess" the country is in.

but as always - i reserve the right to be wrong.
