Bouldering in Louisville

Post by thenutz »

Hey for whats its worth there is some cliffs along side 64 past tunnels that can be accessed from the highlands easy walk down and i decent band of rock you can boulder the bottoms of these faces are at least 50 ft tall. Also follow lexington rd from porters night club north to shelbyville rd and about 3/4 the way there, there is some cut outs of rock behind apts on the right. That is all i now of at this time that isnt private land. Alot of good bands of rock along floyds fork near shepherdsville but all on private land. Good luck hope this helps.

Clifftons (the crap by the tunnel) is private and you will get the cops called on you if they know you're there.

From what I recall from high school, if the cops get called on you all they do is make you leave so just don't wast any time.

I hate to bring an old topic back from the dead, but i did find out some new information. I was really desperate today and went and bouldered around on the chossy rock formations near big rock at cherokee park. There were some small sections of taller(15-25ft) rock that was fairly solid. I was bouldering up one of these and when I stuck my head over the lip and to my suprise i found a really new fixe bolt, i found two more old bolts to the right(rusted through, had right angles). Does anybody know about these?
