There is a picture in Bronaugh's guide of climbers in the "love shack". Isn't that a picture of the monestary? or is it a picture of the place you speak of?

HF you were correct. The Love Shack is long gone. The Monestary is the correct name for the new structure.
Miguel does have a phone but I doubt he wants to have climbers tying it up to spray on the internet about almost redpointing Bare Metal Teen on the 12,000th try.
I have on occasion seen climbers messing around trying to connect with a cell phone and laptop. Seems like more work than it is worth.

How much do you suppose an additional phone line would cost? I wonder if a bunch of "I can't live without internest access" climbers willing to pay for it should approach Miguel. It could run straight to the Monestary. Miguel could even have it disconnected in the winter months or whenever there is a great lull in climbing down at the Red.

ok so the library in stanton is perfect for email and web stuff. so here are directions and hours for others that might care.

it is sort of tricky to find so these direction are not the most direct but the easiest. coming from slade:

1)exit off the mountain parkway at stanton
2)turn left on 213 and cruise through town.
3)pass the bp then the rite aid and further down you will find a road called maple.
4)turn left on maple.
5)follow it until you find breckenridge.
6)turn left the library is on the right. (the courthouse is on the left)

the hours are
M,W,F - 9am-5pm
Tu, Th - 9am-8pm
Sat - 9am - 4pm
Sun - closed.

hope this helps people out.
