It sure is seemin' like it might be a wise move to wait a bit and see if'n that there FS will grant an exception for'n a short time. If sure would suck to have someone head out there with a hand drill and mess up every hole they decide needs a beat'n into the rock. All that'll do is replace old potentially bad bolts with new bad bolts and possibly screw up potential future placements. It's not like there are an infinite number of best places to put a bolt. If it's going to get done, do it right so that it won't have to be messed with for another couple decades.

Fuckallya all.

I am with you Ho..I just don't have as much faith as you do in a group of people getting every hole correct bangin' 'em in with a hammer - especially if they never had previous experience with the hand drill.

I'd sooner consult a tarot card reader and pinpoint exactly which bolts are gonna blow in 2008. But if the cards can't be trusted, I'd rather wait a few months and see if we can gain access to the area with hammer drills. Besides, wouldn't be more fun to F-up a busy Spring climbing weekend for traveling climbers by chasing them off the routes while they are being re-equipped? Wouldn't it be more fun to leave them with a bunch of sandy holds that need to be brushed off?

I think the line of bolts 20 feet left of The Infidel really need to be replaced. They follow that stellar line of pockets now visible after the tree has fallen. The bolts were completely burned off the wall from the fire.

Yeah, JR and I noticed that as well. Crazy, they must have been wooden bolts. I found the hangers at the base. Lets go put em back up.
