Moderating should be pretty heavy except for the flame board where anything goes. If posters wanna flame something posted in another area they could do it in the flame board and post a link to the flame in the other area. Would that work?

A challenge from JB
I don't know about the rest of you, but I agreed to a statement when I signed up an account here at superficial.org that said not to use certain language and behavior. I intend to honor that, except in the flame board where it is allowed and appreciated. I say if you choose not to honor something that you agreed to, then you have no right to whine or complain if you get moderated. With several willing and bbs frequenting moderators (unlike me), this shouldn't be a problem.
In all actuallity, it shouldn't be a problem anyway, since if everyone abides by the user agreement, they won't need to be moderated!! You can easily stop youself from being moderated if you abide by the rules. It's that simple. Folks like several of the current posters here (SCIN, Hoe, Rat, Gretchen) started out well enough on climbkentucky, relegating their filth to the flame board, but it started spilling out into other forums, and that just wasn't cool. Is it that difficult to abide by rules? Are you that weak?
That said, i like the democratic idea. I think even the user agreement could be democratic, a constitution and by-laws for bbs citizens, drafted by the users. However, will future users also get a say in shaping the path the bbs takes, or will it just be the chosen few who are around at the beginning? how often will things be put to a vote? If the first 20 members decide the bbs is a no holds barred, "screw you if you don't like it" free for all, then what happens in a year when there are 500 users who want that changed? Running a bbs is not easy work. I challenge all of you to work with Ray on this effort, not against him.

p.s. what the hell do i know??
