Sorry to hear it didn't work out for you. I have an older model that works great. Maybe the wick needs to break in a little. Mine gets so hot it will burn your hands if it's not in the pouch.Josephine wrote:so i got one of those zippo handwarmers for xmas. i'm not sure how much it was since it was a gift - but unfortunately it's probably not worth whatever it cost!
it was supposed to last up to 24 hrs. - i poured enough fluid for 12 hrs and it didn't even last 6. the heat is not as hot as the disposable handwarmers and it didn't last nearly as long.
it's supposed to be kept in its cloth pouch to regulate air circulation so i don't think it would work well in a chalk bag either.
it might be good for filling it for "24" hours (maybe that will last eight) and putting it at the bottom of my sleeping bag in the cold.
it's a neat idea - but not worth buying.
HEAT
well now - i kinda need my hands so to have them burned off would be most unfortunate. in the pouch it does not get warm enough. i do think it will be great at the bottom of my sleeping bag whenever i make it to Rocktown or HP40. so maybe not a total waste. but certainly not what i was expecting
