Atheism
I'm curious. For the theists out there...how many of you came to your faith through your own choosing, and not because that was how you were raised?
And it doesn't count if you were raised catholic but are now protestant or something minor like that. I'm curious how many of you came from a family that either didn't believe in god, or didn't practice any religion or talk about god, and are now avid worshipers of some kind?

Shamis- I am one. Raised in an agnostic household to parents who infrequently went to the UU church (which is a exercise in agnosticism). Was ambivalent until recently. Personal experience has led to my conclusions. No indoctrination/ dogma brainwashing involved.
Crankmas- no.

I was raised in a religious household, and I am sure my parents would consider me in a "fallen state" now....
it is impossible to seperate one's upbringing to their current state of belief/non belief. Very often, today's atheists are that way because they are running fast from the heavy handed religion forced on them as kids. so it swings both ways shamis. no one figures it out on their own...cause and effect brah...

If you had "seen God" like I did back in the 60's you wouldn't be an atheist.
