Even though I don't really like the analogy, I thought I would correct it

Religion = top-roping

agnosticism = leading

atheism = soloing

Religion = inability to question or scared of the possible answers

Agnosticism = know the answers but don't have the balls to admit it to yourself or anyone else

Atheism = know and accept the answers

I don't know, atheism and religion both seem too definitive. I expect not to know the answers until I die (religion), and even then I probably won't (atheism).

The analogy is thought-provoking; here is my take:
We are all Soloing.

Theism/ Spiritualism = climbing with a rope that you can't see or feel or sense in anyway, a rope that is untested, but you know it has to be there because the holds seem to be designed for your hands. You need the reassurance that said rope provides or you can't climb. At the crux you yell take! You think you feel the minutest tug but you hang on for dear life anyway.

agnosticism = They are telling there is a rope but I don't see it man! Gotta climb anyway! I wonder what happens if I fall?

atheism = I am free soloing. There is no one around. I f I peel my ass is grass.

I was watching Castaway last night and it occurred to me that Tom Hanks talked to everything even a volley ball with a painted face that he called Wilson. He did not talk to god.

I watched part of it again too. I did not notice. I did notice he was sad and alone even at the end. wandering through life. Still its a great movie.

religion = free solo. you have cast off all other possibilities be them right or wrong because of your faith.

atheism = bouldering. too scared to commit to a higher calling you are proud to stay here with the monkeys not to evolv to your true calling of something better in order to feel that YOU are a god.
