Searching, sorting and pictures...

Post by LittleMonkeyMojo »

Guidebook Searching (sorting)...
It'd be nice to sort the results from searching the online guidebook. Things I can immediately think of are by climb rating, alphabetically by climb name, and by wall name.

Guidebook Searching (pictures)...
Would it be possible to display some kind of indicator showing whether a climb description has a picture attached to it?

Thanks.

If climbers used the word "Beta" the way computer programmers did, then we'd be in for a world of hurt.

Cool... Thanks for putting the site together, it's been a world of help with my prep for this weekend.

For the longest time I wondered why climbers wanted "beta" on the climb. I could understand "data", but "beta" to me was "not yet ready for real use"... Then I was told the "BetaMax" reference and it all made sense. Still draws an evil grin from me though.

LMM - For the time being, you can make a querry like: "show me trad routes first sorted by wall then sorted by grade" and you'll get a sorted list.

Type it into the natural language parser (Crag Sloth)

Ah.... the site makes no mention of the natural Language parser. I figured the:
"Oh most noble and merciful Edentate, I beseech thee,
how can I climb as styling as the sloth?"
Was just a cute little header that would appear on top of the results pages.

Thanks, I've now figured out how to get exactly what I was looking for.

You're probably not the only one. Maybe the default text should say something to advise the user instead.

What if the advice were in the form of haiku, would that at least leave enough enigma for Slagcroth?
