Yea, if Tom can work his magic on it I think we'll have a finished topo. My edits using Paint aren't the greatest.

While I was including Ray's corrections, I couldn't resist overlaying the whole thing on an aerial photo and 'stretching' things to match. Let me know if I've re-screwed anything up!

With the dynamic numbering scheme, it would be very useful to have a 'legend' on each topo i.e. just a box with the numbers, route names and ratings. That would reduce confusion between the dynamic revisions. Also, you could just take the one page to the crag.
BTW, if I can help with anything like digitizing topos, or whatever, pm me. I do some perl scripting and java, and could probably do basic stuff with other tools.

here's another suggestion. you should put a poll thing for each route about quality. it seems some first ascensionists (who will remain anonymous, but whose initials are J.B.) are in their own world when it comes to route quality. people who've done the route should vote on the quality.

Yeah, I never thought Jason Burton could rate a route either.

I like HF's suggestion about letting people who have done the route vote on the quality. Now, should it be limited to people who have actually sent it, or anyone who has gotten on it?

That's a good idea and a great point about minimizing confusion - but ...

It can be a pain in the butt to do text formatting. As a first step, I'm trying to get the dynamic topo labeling figured out. At first, you would need to print out the route name/grade list that comes up from the normal online guide and use the two together.

In the long run, there's no reason that route names can't be added to the topo system, it just opens an extra can of worms.
