Online Guide Suggestion
With the dynamic numbering scheme, it would be very useful to have a 'legend' on each topo i.e. just a box with the numbers, route names and ratings. That would reduce confusion between the dynamic revisions. Also, you could just take the one page to the crag.
BTW, if I can help with anything like digitizing topos, or whatever, pm me. I do some perl scripting and java, and could probably do basic stuff with other tools.

here's another suggestion. you should put a poll thing for each route about quality. it seems some first ascensionists (who will remain anonymous, but whose initials are J.B.) are in their own world when it comes to route quality. people who've done the route should vote on the quality.

That's a good idea and a great point about minimizing confusion - but ...kato wrote:With the dynamic numbering scheme, it would be very useful to have a 'legend' on each topo i.e. just a box with the numbers, route names and ratings. It can be a pain in the butt to do text formatting. As a first step, I'm trying to get the dynamic topo labeling figured out. At first, you would need to print out the route name/grade list that comes up from the normal online guide and use the two together.
In the long run, there's no reason that route names can't be added to the topo system, it just opens an extra can of worms.
