I wish all the little (and big) woodland animals would bury their shit too. It's that much less for my dog to roll in.

Dear Tactless,

I am assuming you are the Subman in this situation. If this is the case, it is customary for you to bury the crap for your Uberman (as Pru wisely stated). Also, God forbid you say anything as it could result in a beating. It is kinda like being in prison.

You should pray that your partner doesn't read this post. If one of my many Submen stepped out of line like that it could lead to serious repercussions. Come to think of it, I took a crap on Sunday at a switchback on the approach trail and didn't bury it (as is my custom). Are you Andrew? If so, you will pay Subman.

John Smith and his dog Schwoofy came by just after this atrocious act. Schwoofy is always hungry as you know and very inquisitive... problem almost solved.. if only John Smith was as hungry and as inquisitive as Schwoofy

a diplomatic approach may be:

Next time your climbing partner says he/she is going off to take a shit,
you say ,' hey, here's the shovel'

this will lead to:
a] accept it, no questions asked.

B] may bring up the discussion w/out the ' i'm telling you what to do/better than you' attitude.

C] reject the idea of burying waste completely; in which case, atleast you tried.

Might not have the opportunity to offer the shovel:
1) Partner may not announce that (s)he is going to take a shit;
2) The partner may not have known (s)he was going to shit -- the shit caught him/her by surprise and just slid out at the last minute.
:)

Who's responsibility is it to bury this steaming pile of a thread?
