artsy, that goes to the heart of my question above.....if there is no pecking order in climbing, then why would anyone get pissed when someone ties up a route for hours? why is one person on the rock any more valid than the person currently there?

as far as being superior, I guess we would need to define it. there are definitely more "valuable" members in society than others. the CA man who just killed his wife and four kids versus the guy busting his hump to provide for his family? I vote that the hard working dude is superior. this whole "let's all be friends and be equals" bunk is garbage. Life (in contemporary society) is a pecking order..written or unspoken, it is still there...but maybe what I am looking at is not an "ego" issue, and something else is to blame.

I just picked up Arno's book. Looking foward to it.

I'm going to disappoint you all. I don't know who Pigsteak is and I'm not going to "engage" in any discussion until he tells me. Believe it or not, I only trash the ones I love...or at least know on some level.

I'm with Spragwa on this one. The topic is worn out and there is little to debate. Especially when you are debating words on a screen rather than a person.

weak..no doubt it is weak! spragwa the poser wants to hide behind her so called "virtue" of knowing me....what a sham. tackle the issue I laid out, and quit fixating on your self so much.

and to "johnny the king"...then you are as weak as Spragwa, and have nothing to add to this forum. under your premise, this whole website should be considered "worn out" and a sham then, as the majority of these topics have been discussed in the past.

one last thing spragwa..it sure is funny how the past two weeks you were taking your pound of flesh out of me, without having a clue who I was. my how your tune has changed. have you found Jesus or something? indecisive and weak..typical for someone who has no lead head.
