Atl, yep, mostly just trying to get rid of the soft drinks. But, I also want to cut the caffeine down enough to where if I want an energy boost, drinking something with caffeine in it will actually work, rather then how it has been. The tea thing sounds like a good idea, I will have to try that out. I really dig the vitamin water energy flavor, but those are kinda pricey to drink all the time.

Just get rid of the caffeine all together and keep some Red Bull in the fridge for when you want the pick up when you hit $some_location. Sure the headaches will suck ass for a week or so but nothing water won't bring down to manageable levels. Just remember that once you get off the caffeine that consuming any after like 2PM will totally fuck up your sleep.
Screw you guys. I'm going bowling.

I have a read a lot about this subject. Caffeine is not really bad for you in moderation, but sodas contain lots of chemical preservatives which have been linked to cancer and Parkinson's disease, and they also contain phosphates which have been linked to a loss in bone density. They also seem to have an addictive quality that synergies with the addictive nature of the caffeine. A soft drink every now and again is not a problem, but chronic (read daily) use is. Coffee is not a good option either. While it does contain antioxidants, the diterpenes in coffee have been known to cause liver problems and contribute to elevated cholesterol. Coffee also contributes to stomach ulcers and migraines. Green and white teas have compounds which moderate the diuretic and addictive properties of caffeine, and they also are loaded with antioxidants. Daily usage of these teas is considered healthy and promotes mental focus and weight loss. Herbal teas can be blended in to improve the flavor and antioxidant levels.

green tea. The most widely used and prescribed "medicine" used for rheumatoid arthritis in Europe.
Lots of caffeine and lots of anti oxidants (read- prevents your body from rusting).

I quit coffee/caffiene once cold turkey. Not a good Idea. I thought I was gonna have a stroke. I had blurring vision & everything. After 2 days I said fuck this & drank a mountain dew. The real deal not diet (that would be against my religion). It was way harder that quitting smoking was. Although I was medicated then. However, when I was preggers, I quit caffeine for 4 months & didn't get the first headache. I was trying to be healthy, when I realized that the only thing that would happen with my coffee intake was that I might has a slightly smaller than average babe, not necessarily a bad thing. Caffeine free is no way for a civilized human being to live!

I'll leave you on your butt, sitting in a big pile of sugary dust. I'll meet you with my awesome new Starbuck's Halloween mug in hand (on sale NOW! at Kroeger's), sometime between 8 or 9am. (time change or something, I'm not sceerd. )

But I'll bring some cinnamon buns too, just in case you need some SUGAR with that coffee!

Not implying that you need to shower or anything, Wes, but it's an idea...
