I like green tea with pomegranate flavor. And again I must advocate local honey, you can get it at the farmers market. I know it does not come pre-bottled but you could easily make some the night before.

there are lots of different pills that'll really get you going... or you can start squirting Afrin up your nose. That stuff gives lots of good energy, for sure.

you can also buy little ginsing shots from most health food stores, though I always feel like I am doing something illegal when I use that stuff.

Try a shot of wheat grass. I don't think it has caffeine in it, but it gives you a rush. You feel like you accelerate to 8 G's.

Or you could always substitute your Folgers Crystals with Crystal Meth. That should perk you up.

Wes wrote:So, in my quest to give up soft drinks, I am needing a caffeine delivery system to take the place of diet mtn. dew. I have been drinking a vitamin water, energy flavor, that has some caffeine in it, but was wondering if anyone had any other ideas? Was thinking about maybe tea in the am, but prefer something that doesn't take time to make.

when Tania said you two were trying a new healthy eating plan - i had no idea your Diet Mt Dew got axed! if you put LOTSA cream/sugar in coffee it's not so bad. although i'm sure adding enough cream/sugar is just as bad as the soda pop itself. good luck on your quest!

it would be hare to consiously put 33 grams of sugar into one cup of coffee, but I agree, you can still put too much in.

Though I do love me coffee in the morning, an apple will wake me up just fine! They are easy to eat on the run, yummy and crunchy, and organic if you choose!

Try one with a bottle of spring water. Nice.
What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

If you can't or prefer not to coffee, well that's just a shame. A crying, crying shame. But Ice-T is available everywhere and takes no prep time. And it should be plenty caffeinated. It is, however, fairly costly. You can get an ice-T maker and make a gallon once a week and be set to go in the morning. If you reuse the same bottle day to day then you can feel smug in the morning for recycling. And it is always a great pick-me-up to feel superior to others.

Other options are:
diet pills - most are caffeinated
illegal drugs - might be costly and/or addictive
