I am living proof that you can siege a route into submission, and still give it to Dave Hume. The shame is still too fresh.... I have to go now...

I would guess that I've done the Inhibitor at least 50 times. Maybe quite a few more...
I just went and did it again a couple of months ago, after not climbing it for years. Felt like lunch with an old friend...

Piggie... I too disbelieve that we can't just beat a route into the ground and climb any grade. Then again, I can't force myself to spend more than 2 days or 7 or 8 goes on a route... and even that is a new thing I'm learning.

I agree yas. I would absolutly hate to fall on a rout that was at my limit the first time I tried it, then I would have to project it all over again.

Not me! I love getting back on ex-projects. It is fun to remember all the fun times. Re-sending is not the important thing, if the climbing is fun, enjoy it! Besides, aren't ex-projects supposed to one day become warm-ups??

I've gotten 20 in and given up, but I was getting sick of the climb.

I have at least 15 'for the send' runs on another climb, and although I don't think I will send it next time out, I'm looking forward to getting back on because it's such a sweet line. In fact, as long as I can get a buddy to climb there I will probably be game to flail on it all season (hope it doesn't come to that though!).

I agree totally with ashtray, that aiming low is the way. With that I have been able to go through a project in 1-3 days. I'm trying to aim higher at the moment, hoping it won't backfire.

Pigsteak,

Just out of curiosity, was the back home route you refer to Group Therapy.

I've tried eightball roughly one hundred thousand times. Still like it though.
