Everyone's hard work and team playing aside, what did you really think of the Roc Trip as well as the athletes if you met any of them? I thought it was a pretty good time but i don't know if thet were needed to have a good time. i'm glad so much money was raised but at the same time alot of people that i had looked forward to seeing and meeting were, well, a let down. just curious as to anyone else's thoughts. don't be afraid.

Did not see hit nor hair of Sharma, Graham and Brown at the flash comp. I was a bit disappointed by that.

totally disappointed in the flash comp. I really think it sucked that petzl didn't make it maditory for all its athletes compete in the flash comp and all be there at the same time...I mean what do they pay them for?

i think it's tough... having met a few of the athletes under different circumstances, i think there must be something about the tour/trip that gets hard. i definitely picked up a bit of aloof-ness from a few people who were really great in the past. maybe it's all a bit too much... or maybe they were wasted...

Why shouldn't they be aloof? Theres a bunch of groupies runnin around tryin to touch them...

thought it was fantastic top to bottom- I accepted things as they were and kept my expectations to a minimum... as such I was more in the moment of what was rather than what might have been

yo man its called having a freaking job. they work for petzl and were on a buisness trip to meet with clients and do some PR. Some of them were late to the meeting or still at the hotel bar. Many people loose clients for that kind of behavior. groupies

its called respecting someone's climbing achievements, being motivated by their accomplisments and hoping see all that in person.

Rocktober fest was amazing! Next year is the RRGCC's 10 year anniversary!

I saw them all both days, and talked to many of them. You had to know that the Motherlode wasn't the place to see them. I purposely avoided the place and in the evening went to a crag that I could climb some routes and watch some stars, and then did the same sunday. They all showed up were ever we went.

Chris Linder was very nice and funny.
D Woods was cool and fed some beta.
Future was cool.
Kehl was very nice.
Sharma was alwasy smiling.
Graham was complaining about beds, but pointed out a bunch of lines to bolt and was generally psyched.

I do agree with the fact that they all should have showed up for the flash comp, but I wouldn't have wanted to either.

it was neat to see katie brown climb & to talk with lynn hill at the women's trad clinic. i didn't really learn that much about trad - but did learn a bit about lynn and the way she does things.

as far as groupies goes - there was an EXCEPTIONALLY creepy man following kaite around. the girls in the class kept trying to make a human shield around katie to keep him away! i don't envy being a rockstar if that's what they have to deal with!

i really enjoyed the performances - Odub rocked (ditto the cute sidekick remark!) and the DJ was AWESOME! i'm sure the other band was good too, but i was parking cars.

i'm sure next year's will be equally wonderful.
