No more details were given but I am assuming that they prepared and submitted their own subdivision plat. KRS 322.010

There is some nice rock over there too. There is a plot of land for sale at indian valley with a wall slightly over hanging and with sparse holds. a few routes were bolted here long ago but there is no climbing there. i would say potential for 10 to 15 more routes any where from 12+ to 13+ just have to get access some how and i dont know how unless someone buys that plot.

I guess I can see a 'developper' trying to bs their own plot, but what about the buyers?

Are there people out there buying land without a legal survey? Seriously?

When the deed says "From the old oak tree go west 200 yards to stinky bottom creek" to describe a property line you can bet that a "proper" survey has not been completed.

Yep. The PMRP, Roadside, Muir Valley and maybe 95% of all the rural land sold down here. Tom, this ain't Chicago.

I've heard of deeds with descriptions like "The place where Pa used to go chop wood".

At least they mention a large rock which is more likely to be there than Grandpa's barn or the big elm tree with a crook in it's trunk.

deeds around these parts and many "wilderness/undeveloped" areas are like that. we had a plat in tn that mentioned where the horse feed. a professional land surveyor is expensive, we had to have one when we purchased this property. it takes a lot of man hours and research to do the job right. if anyone knows a professional that would be interested in doing reduced surveys to ensure better access get them in touch with the bod, rick or grant.
