You can too climb and drink if you are an adherent to the Downward Bound school of climbing - http://www.amazon.com/Downward-Bound-Cl ... 0897321014
This review is from: Downward Bound: A Mad Guide to Rock Climbing

Not only is this book the ftsss (funniest thing since slice spam) but it actually has a lot of useful information. I learned a lot about climbing (aid techniques, history, choice of beverage) from reading it. The cartoons are the best part, but many readers will also appreciate the author's well-aimed (but funny) criticism of the elitist, pompous hypocrites who are way too common in the rock climbing world.

is that one of those "my drinking team has a climbing problem" things?
The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own.
You do not blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the president.
You realize that you control your own destiny.

Thanks very much to Rob Butsch for putting together this fundraiser! I will remind everyone again that on the YC.com website hosted by Katie Brown there is a separate "Grassroots Channel" for Roctoberfest / RocTrip - http://www.yourclimbing.com/rocktoberfest

It would be greatly appreciated if as many people as possible register on the YC.com site and sign up for the Grassroots Channel to show Katie how much we appreciate her ongoing support for Red River Gorge access.

You people need a leader I'm all for it. Besides, I've kinda been holding that position unofficially for years.

as long as there's no belaying and no serious highball spotting involved...I am all for climbing under the influence of something...usually but not always....beer. How many people here have done Bum Boy at HP40 at night drunk or stoned or both?
