RRG area real estate?
RRG area real estate?
Hey, anyone know of a good source to begin looking into some land/house near the rrg? It would be more for a full time residence, not a weekend cabin type thing. Would have to be kinda close to the parkway, have full hookups, and DSL / Cable access. Might just be looking for land to build on, or maybe for existing house, or maybe even to rent / lease for a bit. Just starting to do the research on pricing, costs, and areas.

Rick Webber mentioned to me a while ago that the Wall Street Journal had run an article saying something like the Red is the last, best wilderness area accessible from the East Coast (so, of course, a bunch of stock brokers should buy up all the wilderness and build preposterous houses on it...) I've never tried to track down the article, but Rick's implication was that prices are very much on the rise in the area.

I pick up the papers every time I'm in the area. There's always a ton of stuff in the classifieds of the Clay City Times and the Three Forks (Beatyville). Sometimes interesting, sometimes not. Also, quite often you'll find some being sold at the courthouse. If you don't want to deal with the realtors, then ask at the courthouse (hall of records) who they would think to be a decent person to contact.
If you are looking for a permanent residence, there seems to be a lot. Just depends on what your parameters are.
