At any rate, Wes, the pic is fantastic!
What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

My little Nikon went with my wallet yesterday so my purchase of a D40x and an 18mm-200mm zoom has been moved up. But what do I do for the three weeks that it will take me to build up the remaining cash? I'm always taking pictures...

Went and peeked through one of those 18-200's today. It's shocking you can get that sharp of an image with so small a lense. And the autofocus is super fast and accurate. The zoom is also very fast and smooth (the lense doubles in length). The next two lenses will have to be a small telescope and a fisheye. I forgot to check the macro on the zoom so if it isn't too good I might need an additional zoom of some type. With these new digital zooms (because of smaller focal point the quality to strength ratio is all turned around) you've gotta wonder if you couldn't do the vast majority of your shooting day to day and only need one lense.

Are there any recommendations for filters? I know I want a polarizing filter but are there any other non-special effects types that are good? It seems that things like star filters have been rendered obsolete with Photoshop anyway.
