U-climb a huge success

Post by RRO »

Wow is about all I can say. The 1st annual U-climb event went off without a hitch and was a huge success. When you have wonderfull weather, the amazing community of the RRG, food from Miguels and Marks, great camping at Lago Lindas and 75 climbers amped about climbing you cant go wrong. With generous donations from Mgear, clients and most the guides donating their fees we raised a little over $4,000 towards the PMRP purchase ! I have to give a huge THANKS to everyone that helped with this event. We could not have pulled this off without you.

Now I finally get to climb !!

I think it speaks VOLUMES to the wonderful work that Matt & Amy put into this event that MGear decided to make this an ANNUAL event!!!!

and the $4000.00 raised is a nice portion of the 2008 payment! :D

Dearest FLUFFY and Amy,

Thank YOUz. All your effort showed too. Like Mgear said, "I'd like to have a Matt and Amy manual on how to organize an event like this." You guys are that amazing.

Of course, the participants were darn lucky with some of their guide selections. You just couldn't have a bad experience if your instructors were the Climbing Corpse,Too-tall Andrew and Action Jackson (not to forget the 15+ other great folks out there).
I know that you believe that you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Matt, you can take off your "I suck" hat just for today. That's awesome - both of you!

This really was a great event. Fluffy and Ames and Rick and Eric did a hell of a lot of prep work, so all we had to do was show up and charm the clients (and not leave the campground Sat night and get arrested). And as always, Linda was an amazing host.

We made some great connections, got a new killer sponsor, showed a ton of people a really good time, and raised a hell of a lot of cash for the RRGCC. I just wish Matt would make some money for himself one of these days....

Great job everyone!

Maybe next year I can help out! and we'll get Noa belaying too! You guys were all great and I was climbing at one of the UClimb clinic crags and really, you would have never know they were there, cept for all the matching helmets of course. I hiked around to several of the areas the clinics were at and everything was like a well oiled machine and everyone was having fun! great job and congrats on raising the dough.

Big thanks to Paul and Phil from MountainGear for being such great sponsors and to Fluffy and Amy, Rick, and Eric for all their hard work.
