Funk Rock City Closed Due To Fire

Post by captain static »

There is a wildfire in the area above Funk Rock City and Jerome Perez, Forest Supervisor of the Daniel Boone National Forest has issued a temporary closure of the crag and surrounding 25 acre area until further notice. The area will be opened again when conditions are deemed safe. Here is the USFS Press Release on the fire: http://www.fs.fed.us/r8/boone/newsroom/ ... sure.shtml

Ho's plan was to burn down the route so it wouldn't see a repeat. Way to let things get out of hand, man.

Unfortunately, according to the Forest Service, the fire has not been contained and has grown to about 10 acres. Thus Funk Rock City remains under a temporary closure.

I bet all that rust on those bolts is protecting them from the heat.
